 My Definition of Twitter.

a web app, designed to allow users to be offended.

When a person thinks that they are in need of being hurt, demeaned, or offended, they go to post or reply on Twitter.

things we say, that aren't necessarily true...

Here's one...
"Send a message with your vote (or verdict)"...

We hear this often, a current example is with the current prez. primary...
"Send a _message_ to the 'establishment'.  We also see this on Court drama's....  "Send a message with your verdict, that this behavior will not be tolerated."

However, if we look at the various forms of communication, it appears the ballot box, or jury box are quite limited.  The _only_clear_ message seems to be "the winner of this contest is  (the one who has the most votes)"     or " this Defendant is guilty/innocent".

We had a local race, States Attorney, where this meme was used this way (a common usage):
"Send a message that this type of dirty politics will not be tolerated". Now, after the election, the contender who was accused of the dirty politics was indeed defeated, but was the intended message truly sent?

I am 100% behind sending these messages, but aren't they important enough to use much more effective modes of communication? Like a sign in your yard, letter to the editor,  a blog post, or  actually talking to people?
